50/50 RAFFLE
GUIDELINES FOR VOLUNTEERS
Volunteering for the 50/50 Raffle is demanding and requires you to be flexible and able to work under time pressure. These guidelines are intended to help the program run smoothly and make your volunteer experience a positive one. Volunteers who do not adhere to the following guidelines may be asked to leave Nationwide Arena.
GENERAL GUIDELINES
- All Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. NO CHILDREN will be admitted with volunteers, regardless of whether they hold game tickets.
- While working the Raffle, the Volunteers may NOT wear hats or clothing that contain logos of NHL teams, except the Columbus Blue Jackets or jerseys that are the design and coloration of NHL teams, except the Blue Jackets. This includes minor sports teams that use NHL teams’ logos and/or colors. Blue Jackets apparel is permitted and encouraged.
- Volunteers may NOT drink alcohol, smoke or watch the game while working the Raffle. The Arena is a non-smoking facility.
- Volunteers should eat prior to or after the Raffle. No food is provided, and Volunteers are asked not to eat while working the Raffle.
- Volunteers will only be allowed to access certain areas within the Arena and must remain within the proximity of their assigned selling location.
- Game tickets will not be provided to Volunteers, but tickets are not required for participation. Volunteers will not be permitted to remain in the Arena following the completion of their Raffle duties unless they hold game tickets.
Volunteers should avoid bringing large bags to the game due to new security measures in place at the Arena. Arena security will use their discretion on whether to allow such items into the Arena.
WHEN AND WHERE SHOULD I ARRIVE?
Volunteers must arrive no later than two and a half (2.5) hours prior to game time, unless directed otherwise by their Raffle Coordinator. If you are late in arriving, the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation may refuse to allow you to participate on that Game Date.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I GET THERE?
On game day, Volunteers must enter the Arena through the Big Lots Box Office by the John H. McConnell Street Entrance and sign in with the Raffle Game Day Coordinator. Volunteers will remain within the designated area for Volunteers until all Volunteers arrive. The Foundation Raffle Coordinator will escort Volunteers to the main concourse where Volunteers will sign in again.
Volunteer Assignments
Once on the main concourse, the Raffle staff will assign, on a first-come, first-serve basis, all Volunteers to sell tickets. Please see below for brief descriptions of each job.
Volunteer Job Descriptions
Seller
Volunteers will sell tickets in the concourses of the Arena at designated locations. Sellers will be responsible for making themselves noticeable to the public to encourage customers to buy tickets. After ticket sales end, Sellers will be expected to assist with organizing the aprons and/or perform other duties in the 50/50 Room. Sellers sell from the time the Arena doors open to the end of the second intermission.
Volunteer Training
After Volunteer assignments are completed, the Raffle staff will conduct a brief training session for all Volunteer positions.
Thank you! We hope you enjoy your volunteer experience!
