Goalie Development Clinics Overview

Registration is now open for the Blue Jackets Hockey League Preseason Goalie Development Clinics. Space is limited, and registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. These clinics are designed to help goaltenders prepare for player assessments and the upcoming season while receiving quality instruction from the CBJHL Goalie Staff.

Session 1 – Introduction to Goaltending

This clinic is designed for players who are interested in playing more goalie this season and are looking for formalized instruction. Coaches will introduce the basic fundamentals of goaltending in a fun, positive learning environment while helping players build confidence in the position.

Ice Times:

• Monday, August 31, 2026 – 6:30 PM–7:20 PM
• Tuesday, September 1, 2026 – 6:30 PM–7:20 PM
• Wednesday, September 2, 2026 – 6:00 PM–6:50 PM

Ages: 8-10 years old

Birth Years: 2016, 2017, and 2018

Position: Part Time Goalies Only

Clinic Topics Include:

• Ready stance
• Crease movement
• Positioning and angles
• Basic save techniques
• Rebound control
• Introduction to the fundamentals of goaltending

Important Information:

• Quick Change goalie equipment is provided.
• Registration is limited to 20 goaltenders:
• 2018 Birth Year: 10 spots
• 2016–2017 Birth Years: 10 spots combined
• Participants must bring:
• Full player equipment
• Hockey stick

Session 2 – Full-Time Goaltender Development

This clinic is designed for established full-time goaltenders looking to sharpen their game before the season begins. Whether you are preparing for player assessments, returning to the ice after the offseason, or looking to refine your skills, this clinic will provide quality instruction in a game-like environment designed to help goalies before the season begins.

Instruction will be led by the CBJHL Goalie Staff along with volunteer goalie coaches, allowing for a low coach-to-goalie ratio and individualized feedback throughout the clinic.

• Monday, August 31, 2026 – 7:30 PM–8:20 PM
• Tuesday, September 1, 2026 – 7:30 PM–8:20 PM
• Wednesday, September 2, 2026 – 7:00 PM–7:50 PM

Ages: 10U-14U

Birth Years: 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, & 2016

Position: Full Time Goalies Only

Clinic Topics Include:

• Fundamental save techniques
• Skating and crease movement
• Positioning and angle play
• Game-like drills and reads
• Preparation for player assessments and the regular season

Important Information:

• A maximum of five (5) spots are available for 2015–2016 birth year goaltenders.
  
  • 2015–2016 birth year participants must be registered as a full-time goalie for the 2026–27 CBJHL season to be eligible for this clinic.
• Registration is limited to 25 goaltenders and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Participants must bring their own full goaltending equipment. If you do not have full equipment, please reach out at the email below.
