Has your player ever wondered what it’s like to wear the stripes? Now’s their chance! The Blue Jackets Hockey League and 614 Ice Refs are teaming up to host a Try Officiating for Free Day on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at OhioHealth Chiller North and we’d love to see your player on the ice!

This fun, hands-on event gives young athletes the opportunity to step into the world of officiating in a stress-free, supportive learning environment. Participants will learn key referee skills, get insider info on joining 614 Ice Refs, and even officiate an 8U cross-ice game!

If your player is ready to give officiating a try, grab a spot in one of the two available sessions below. Each session is limited to just 12 participants, so register soon!

This event is open only to current CBJHL players born 2011–2015. Each participant will be provided an official’s jersey and whistle to use during the event.

Please have your player bring:

• HECC-certified helmet with cage
• Ice hockey skates
• Appropriate pants (ski pants or sweatpants)
