Blue Jackets Hockey League Overview
The Blue Jackets Hockey League, presented by Tim Hortons, in association with Pedialyte and Feazel, is a local, city-wide hockey program for boys and girls aged 5 to 14 years old. Committed to providing a world-class experience, our league follows the American Development Model and principles of long-term athlete development to help young athletes reach their full potential. Players benefit from the guidance of USA Hockey certified volunteer coaches and league development coaches.
Registration Dates
Registration: May 20-June 17, 2025
If spots are still available, we will reopen registration: July 1-15, 2025
Registration Options
Option A: September-February
- 6U and 8U - $775
- 10U - $950
- 12U and 14U - $975
- Available for all ages.
- Guarantee your spot for the entire Blue Jackets Hockey League Season.
Option B: September-December
- 6U and 8U - $425
- 10U - $660
- Available only for 6U, 8U, and 10U.
- Great for players that are new to the team aspect of hockey and want to try it out before committing to the full season.
Option C: January-February
- 6U and 8U - $350
- 10U - $400
- Available only for 6U, 8U, and 10U.
- Registration for Option C will open in September

*If your 10U (Born in 2015 & 2016) player graduated LTP in March, May, July, or September and has no Blue Jackets Hockey League Experience please review the 10U Recent Learn to Play Graduates Schedule.*
Typical Weekly Schedule
10U, 12U, and 14U
- Average of 2 - 3 Ice Sessions per week
- 2x Training Sessions per week
- 1x Full Ice Game
- Games will be played Saturday and Sunday* throughout Central Ohio rinks.
6U and 8U
- 2 Ice Sessions per week
- 1x Training Session
- 1x GameDay (Modified Ice Game Play – i.e., cross ice, quarter ice, third ice, etc.)
- Last Season's Game Days*:
- Chiller North and Chiller Dublin - Saturdays
- Chiller Easton - Sundays
*Game days are subject to change for the 2025-2026 season based on numbers and ice availability.
Team Placement
At the beginning of the season, the players will participate in assessment skates. During the assessment skates, players will be divided based on experience and into the most age and developmentally appropriate teams. Assessments will take place in phases, depending on age group and experience. Please plan on attending all assigned sessions.
10U, 12U, and 14U:
- September 13-21
- 3 sessions
6U, 8U, and 10U Recent LTP Graduates:
- September 29-October 5
- 2 sessions
*The schedule will be released a month prior to the start of assessments.
Pre-Requisites
Completion of the CBJ Learn to Play Hockey Series (1, 2, and 3) and/or previous playing experience in the Blue Jackets Hockey League or comparable ice hockey experience.
Your player will need a 2025-26 USA Hockey Membership.
Required Gear
League Provided:
- One Blue Jackets Hockey League Reversible Jersey
- One pair reversible hockey socks
Players Provided:
- Helmet with cage
- Gloves, elbow pads, shoulder pads, shin pads, jock/jill, hockey pants
- Hockey stick
- Hockey skates
- Neck Laceration Protection (Neck Guard)
- 12U and 14U - Mouth guard
Goaltending Equipment:
- At 6U and 8U, goaltending equipment will be provided by the Blue Jackets Hockey League, and everyone will have the chance to play goalie.
- At 10U, each team will have a league provided set of goalie gear for players to rotate during the season, if necessary.
- At 12U and 14U players will need to provide their own goalie gear.

The league thrives on the dedication of volunteers in both on-ice and off-ice roles:
- On-ice: Coaches, Goalie Coaches - Skating ability is not necessary
- Off-ice: Team Manager, Social Manager, Equipment Manager

Scholarships
The Blue Jackets Hockey League will provide families with partial or full scholarships based on financial need. The deadline for scholarship applications is June 17, 2025, please apply at this link (opens May 20th). Applying for a scholarship automatically reserves your player’s spot in the Blue Jackets Hockey League. All applicants will be notified of determination prior to July 1, 2025.
Refund Policy:
For registrations completed between May 20th-June 17th, 2025:
Refund requests made prior to June 19th will receive a full refund. Refund requests made on or after June 19th will receive a full refund minus a $75 administrative fee.
